NEW IN TOWN? OR JUST TIRED OF SITTING DOWN ALL DAY?

One of the most special things about "Pittsburgh - Some Place Special!" is its compact and vibrant downtown. This city is alive and well, accessible on foot, with interesting things happening today, every day, and over two centuries of interesting history behind that.

If sitting in a chair is just too tiresome and you'd like to stretch your legs and learn about this exciting city, then join PITTSBURGH WALKING on a foot-loose tour tailored to suit your interests.

WHERE WE'LL GO AND WHAT WE'LL SEE.
(THAT DEPENDS ON YOU!)

No two tours are just alike. We have miles of formal trails and endless sidewalks, leading by uniquely ornate buildings, moving monuments, fountains in secret gardens, new stadiums, and so much more.

Have you ever heard of a city with a canal across a river… up in the air?! There was one in Pittsburgh. The architecture or the natural history alone could fill a great day's walk, and the environmental history is fascinating too. If you like, we can end up at a good restaurant for a fine meal. We could even stop in at the Science Museum or check out Andy Warhol's collection of 20th century art. Give me a little lead time and I'll even research your favorite area just for you!

Call and talk to me, Donald Gibbon, and we'll arrange to meet at your downtown hotel or at the convention center. We could also meet in Oakland or the North Side, if that's where your meeting is taking place. There's much to see in those historic places too.

We can walk as long or as short as you like, so let us know what you'd prefer. There are lots of good photography opportunities

too, so bring your camera along.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear "stout shoes" and good socks. If you have a little day pack, it's wise to bring some rain gear, just in case it clouds up. Water is a good thing too, though we could stop and buy something to drink along the way.
